Account setup
Set up your workspace, invite your team, manage billing and credits, and create the API keys your integrations use.
Your workspace
Your workspace holds your agents, channels, campaigns, contacts and team, and everything in it is kept apart from other workspaces. When you create your account, you name it and say what kind of business it is, so it starts with the right tools.
Workspace settings
Open Settings in the sidebar. You see the tabs your role allows, among them:
- Workspace: its name, contact phone and time zone.
- Team: invite people and manage their roles.
- API keys: keys for your own systems and AI assistants.
Billing has its own page in the sidebar: your plan, credits, invoices and cards.
Invite your team
Each person in the workspace has a role:
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing, the plan and deleting the workspace. |
| Admin | Manages the team, the workspace settings and everything in it. Sees billing, but can't change it or delete the workspace. |
| Builder | Creates, edits and deploys agents, sets up channels, and manages credentials, API keys and integrations. Can't manage the team. |
| Operator | Replies to conversations, runs campaigns, edits contacts and appointments, and tests agents. Can't create or edit agents or set up channels. |
| Viewer | Sees agents, channels, campaigns, contacts, calls and conversations, and changes nothing. |
Clinics that use NuTalk scheduling also have clinic roles: Clinic Manager, Clinic Operator, Doctor and Receptionist.
How to invite
Open the invite page
In Settings → Team, click Invite member.
Add people and a role
Enter their email addresses, up to 20 at a time, and choose a role. Start with the least access they need; you can change it later.
Send the invitations
Review and click Send invitation. Each person gets an email with a link to join, valid for 7 days.
Billing and credits
NuTalk bills usage in credits: calls, messages and other AI work use them at your plan's rates. Billing shows your balance, what used it and, under Rates, what each action costs.
New workspaces start on Pay as you go, with free credits every month and no credit card. Current plans and prices are on the pricing page.
Change your plan
Owners change the plan in Billing: under Subscriptions, open the plan's options and choose Change plan. A higher plan starts once its payment goes through; a lower one starts when the current period ends.
Buy more credits
In Billing, click Buy credits and choose a package. Each one shows about how many call minutes or messages it buys and how long its credits last, and you pay on Stripe's secure page. Calls on NuTalk numbers use credits; calls through your AiBox line are included and never use them.
API keys
API keys let your own applications and AI assistants use the NuTalk API and MCP server. A key belongs to your workspace and reaches only what you allow, area by area: no access, read or write (in the API, scopes such as agents:read or calls:write).
Create an API key
Name it
In Settings → API keys, click Create key. Name it after the app or assistant that will use it, so you know which one to revoke later.
Choose its access
For each area, choose no access, read or write: the least the app needs.
Set its safety options
Whether deletes and changes wait for an owner's or admin's approval, when the key expires and which IP addresses may use it.
Copy the key
NuTalk shows it only once. Store it somewhere safe, such as an environment variable on your server.
Anyone holding a key can do what its access allows in your workspace. Never commit it to source control or share it publicly; keep it in an environment variable.
Revoke a key
If a key is compromised or no longer needed, revoke it in Settings → API keys. A revoked key is refused from its next request, and revoking can't be undone.
Security best practices
- Use a strong password: at least 12 characters, mixing letters, numbers and symbols.
- Owners and admins: turn on two-step verification in Settings → Security, with a security key or an authenticator app.
- Roll API keys from time to time: Roll key gives a key a new secret, and the old one keeps working until the time you choose.
- Give each person the role they need, and each key only the access it uses.
- Verify the signature on webhooks from the NuTalk API before trusting them (see Webhooks).
